The End of March Arrived. These Were On My Kindle for Me.

Beware the Ides of March (et tu, Brutus? -technically, 'Brute,' of Shakespeare's 'Julius Cesaer' but...), the month that comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb. It's still roaring lion-ey rain, and we pray daily over all of our trees because of the sudden gusts of wind which may take even a deep-rooted tree by surprise.

Now to 'what have I been up to this month?'

My first was an ARC (advanced reader copy) by Linda Rodante (you can see her information and click for all of her books on the menu dropdown, Links You Should Follow), 'Overflow,' Book Two of The Waterfall Mysteries. These novels fly with suspension and romance and try as I might, I could not figure out who the responsible party was and who was going to well ... go to prison, and... etc.

Second: I read a sweet rom/com. Not my usual genre, and I picked it because it is a sweet, clean romance. It's not a Christian romance, however it is a fun read. You'll enjoy the back and forth between Maddie and Connor who are at odds. For. Years. Jenessa Fayeth's novel, 'Not On Your Life: An Enemies to Lovers Sweet Romantic Comedy, (Never Say Never, Book 2)." Different genres give me a break from romantic suspense, crime fiction, and rom/com/crime fiction to read. Even though it may not be my usual.

OKAY I ADMIT IT. I read another romcom by Jennsa Fayeth, the first in the Never Say Never series. I read the second novel in the series first and thought I'd die laughing. This romcom is not nearly as funny as the next, but still has quite its moments. Ward (the hunk), Lyndi (the struggling Etsy shop owner), and her son, Crew, steal the show. Every mother's worst nightmare: her child gets 'inexplicably' stuck in a grocery store refrigerator. While 'Not on Your Life' is pure romcom, Not 'How I Saw That Going' is romcom with suspense.

I finished up the month with 'Flesh and Bone,' a full-on treatise (textbook) on anthropology, the stages of death, and all the gory aspects from beginning to end. I also finished up 'Criminology,' another textbook I've been working my way through as I work through my next Whiskey River Mystery.

Been a busy month so I'll post two more from this month into the next. While you're at it, pick up a copy of Shanghai Road, Silk & Slippers, Romance Under Wraps, annnd the sci-fi genetic engineering novel, Rules of Engagement. *And yes, I am writing. Something.
