April Fools? YES, IT'S MAY. I KNOW.

Updated: May 25

I admit it. April was somewhat of a bust.

I have been reading "Say What?" The caption says it all. It's 211 pages long, 20 words for commas, which is a read one can manage quickly in three weeks ... Don't forget the hankies.

Yes. It's a handy guide if you haven't all the goods from CMOS (no, that is not short for Claire Marie O'Sullivan, but whatever) as in, money. I'm on page 59 and so looking forward <cough> to the rest. It's comprehensive and states plainly what the CMOS does not. Don't expect me to remember what I've read thus far. It's a text with chapter headings. I can look up commas, quotes, capitalizations, on my whim.

I did find Pat Conway's "Prince of Tide." I am not a saga person. Ya, ya, it's a movie. But I wanted to read this since I didn't watch the movie. I found there were a lot of unsavory things within, however, to my shame, I only read the prologue (after I read 3 chapters and said, mmmm no). But the prologue was literary magic. I know of a gal online who not only knew Pat Conroy but lived in the lowcountry, herself. I could see the South Carolina marshes and waters through her own words! So if you want to be swept into the lowcountry of South Carolina, surrounded by fireflies, old-wives tales and living in and among the marshes and waters, fly off to Amazon and read just the prologue.

The reason for my absence has been a few health issues and some writing. I've also fiddled with some concepts for covers for the next novel.

But a decision will be made and my graphic artist will read and determine which. We'll wait.

Off to read. Down to 199 books. Progress.
